The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri selects Kimberly S. Bramlett as new Chief of Probation.

St. Louis – Kimberly S. Bramlett was chosen to become the new Chief Probation Officer for the Eastern District of Missouri.  She will begin her new role on January 3, 2022.  

She is currently the Chief Probation Officer for the Western District of Arkansas, a position she has held since 2018.  In 2006, she began her career as a federal probation officer in the Eastern District of Missouri, serving as a U.S. Probation Officer, then a U.S. Probation Officer Specialist, and finally as a Supervisory U.S. Probation Officer in the district’s Southern Division in Cape Girardeau.  Bramlett received the 2014 Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly Women’s Justice Award due to her work with the Court.  

“The Probation Office for the Eastern District of Missouri has an outstanding history of service to the community,” said Chief District Judge Rodney W. Sippel, “We are excited that a leader from another judicial district has agreed to become our district’s next Chief Probation Officer and continue the tradition of excellence.” 

Prior to her federal service, she worked for the Children’s Division of the Missouri Courts, holding successive positions, beginning first as a Children’s Service Worker in 1998, progressing to Supervisor and ultimately to Specialist.  In these positions, she worked primarily in southeast Missouri in the 32nd, 33rd and 34th Judicial Circuits.  

Bramlett is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and her undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University. 

“Kim is an excellent leader and comes with a wealth of knowledge in community corrections.  She will be a huge asset to the Eastern District of Missouri,” said Mark Reichert, Chief U.S. Pretrial Services Officer and acting Chief Probation Officer of the district.   

The mission of the U.S. Probation Office for the Eastern District of Missouri is to assist the Court in the administration of justice; facilitate long term positive change for those under supervision; and contribute to a safer community.
