Human Resources Department
The Human Resources Department for the Eastern District of Missouri recruits for all vacancies for the U.S. District Clerk's Office. We only accept applications when a position vacancy exists. Please follow the application procedures when submitting application materials.
Divisional Offices
St. Louis is the main office for the Eastern District of Missouri. Divisional offices are located in Cape Girardeau and Hannibal, MO.
Citizenship Requirements
Applicants must be United States citizens or eligible to work in the United States. All individuals appointed by a judiciary office must complete the Employment Eligibility Verification Form (Form I-9) certifying their eligibility to work in the U.S. (this includes unpaid volunteers).

Background Investigation Requirements
Applicants who are selected for positions with the court are required to undergo an FBI Background Check and/or Investigation and social media inquiry as a condition of employment. The selectee may then be appointed provisionally, and retention will depend upon favorable suitability determination of the background investigation.

Applicants selected for interviews must travel at their own expense and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed. Applicants may be asked to participate in proficiency tests. Judiciary employees serve under excepted appointments (not civil service). Excepted appointments are at will and can be terminated with or without cause.
